Free music every day on twitter!
In honor of the new years I have decided to release a free song every day or so on my twitter page! (It will in all likelihood be every other day). I would be very pleased to have you follow me on twitter here: http://twitter.com/soundofjw
I have been releasing all sorts of tidbits about my music working that don't warrant a full blog post and there has already been some unheard music made available! The only way you'll be able to keep up is if you subscribe to me on twitter or the equivalent RSS feed (see the twitter page).
Also, the twitter feed is on the left, but it does so much more good if you also follow me on twitter.com. I will be releasing music from my commercial work (when I can), works in progress, music from free games, and much much more, so check it out!
The first free song of the day is Demonic Rage II, from The Spirit Engine 2, but you can only find it here:

The Spirit Engine 2: RPG Game of the Year (gametunnel.com)
The Spirit Engine 2 was just awarded the 2008 RPG Game of the Year by gametunnel.com, a website dedicated to reviewing independent games released across the globe.
Check out the full article for proof (;
In other news, I have setup a public twitter.com account, as can be seen on the left dashboard. You should head over to my twitter page and follow me!
Thanks! Also, remember to sign up for my mailing list and facebook page (;
An Update for Update's Sake
Hello loyal fan-bites! I'm just writing to give a big thanks to all of my listeners and supporters that have helped me get to this point. I appreciate every second you guys have spent listening to and talking about my music.
Bonesaw: The Game was recently reviewed for Joystiq's Freeware Friday and was very favorably reviewed. Maybe you have enjoyed the "absolutely phenomenal" soundtrack?
Or maybe you prefer the more traditional soundtrack to The Spirit Engine 2, recently showered in positivity by RPGFan.com's Patrick Gann. You can read his review of the entire soundtrack, the Selections album, or even the prequel!! (Or you can check out the whole listing of reviews, including those of the game here!)
I am putting music together here and there and am working on a pretty cool album that I'm hoping to put out for free! Please do not hesitate to join my mailing list (which I use to only post release information, and it's a lot less frequent than these posts) and check out my Facebook page and such...
Keep on rockin' and THANK YOU for your support!

We Keep on Fighting (Unreleased Sounds Sunday)
What an exciting month it's been! I've been catching up with some much needed rest and relaxation after a very busy work period for The Spirit Engine 2, and it feels great to finally get some rest. I made a pretty large post over at the TSE2 Forums detailing some of the unreleased tracks that I wrote for the game that never really made it or that simply didn't make the cut for whatever reason.
The first of the unreleased tracks is "We Keep on Fighting." read more »

Free Music
Hey everyone! I've been putting free music from The Spirit Engine 2 and Bonesaw on a neat website called thesixtyone. It's a REALLY addictive site, and a great way to find some really talented musicians. Oh, and it's got a LOT of free music on it. The concept it simple - 'bump' songs you like by spending your points, and if those songs do well you will earn points - it's like an investment! You even get to level up. So if you're a fan of mine, I suggest you hop over there and start leveling up like crazy, and don't forget to use the referer code whelchelphd!
There are more songs after the jump (click read more).
The Spirit Engine II: Original Soundtrack is here!
The Spirit Engine II: Original Soundtrack and The Spirit Engine II: Selections are now available for download at jwmusic.org, the official retailer for all of my music.
Factoids:
The Spirit Engine 2 contains over three hours of original music.
The Spirit Engine II: Selections is on sale for $7.99 and features 22 of the best pieces of music I wrote for the game. Optionally, you can pay an additional $3.50 plus shipping to have the CD shipped right to your door (and you still get the digital download!).
The Spirit Engine II: Original Soundtrack is on sale for diehard fans at $16.00 (free for those who donated in April) and an additional $8.00 for the FOUR CD SET!! That's only $2 per CD, something to think about if you've already getting the music.
The soundtrack took over four years to write, and saw one complete rewrite. The first drafts are available freely from the Premonitions albums.
The full soundtrack fits snugly on 4 CDs with amazing artwork by the talented Mark Pay. This includes full CD artwork, printed tray cards and insert, and of course, 4 unique album covers. All of this is included when you download the soundtrack, too.
Anyway, thanks for listening and supporting me and my music.
Head to jwmusic.org to purchase the soundtrack!
